I was writer, lead singer and keyboard player with The 20th Century F*xes in Lancaster in the ’80s, although bands before and since included Practical Rabbit, Master Master and the legendary Wounded Popes.
I started to record solo in the 80s when sequencers first became affordable, and even before that when you had to do everything on 4-Track cassette tape, and spent the 90s composing as a solo artist, submitting to record companies, TV, and film… and making my music available on the internet, high charting on the old MP3.com site, gaining some great reviews at the old Listen.com site and being one of the first people in the world to write a song using Bram Bos’s Tuareg software (Find The Way).
In the absence of a band to play with I may well still play my first ever solo gigs at some point. It is something I’ve been meaning to do for many years and the set would be a 70:30 mixture of songs and instrumentals probably. Is there an audience? Who knows..???
I am also currently writing music for video production companies.
Aside from the music I have also been a martial artist for the last ten years or so with black belt grades in Shotokan Karate and Hung Gar Kung Fu. I also hold grades in Wing Chun Kung Fu and Filipino Martial Arts.
I have a love and passion for comic books, anime and Asian cinema, along with sci-fi and good western cinema, and love reading.
I have a wife and two talented kids, all of which makes me pretty lucky I reckon!
